SiliconSystems is Ranked North America’s Second Fastest Rising Star in Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500 Program

Company Also the Winner of Deloitte’s Technology Fast 50 Rising Star Award  in Orange County

ALISO VIEJO, Calif., October 19, 2006 — SiliconSystems, Inc., a world leader in advanced storage technology, today announced that it has been recognized as the second fastest growing Rising Star company in Deloitte’s 2006 Technology Fast 500 North American program.  A special category, the Rising Star list ranks 25 companies that have been in business three or four years.  Companies on the list are ranked based on percentage revenue growth over three years (2003 to 2005).  Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500 is a ranking of the 500 fastest growing technology, media, telecommunications and life sciences companies in North America.  SiliconSystems also recently won Deloitte’s Technology Fast 50 Rising Star Award for Orange County, California, one of Deloitte’s sixteen regional Fast 50 Programs in North America.

CEO Michael Hajeck credits SiliconSystems’ 7,204% revenue growth to the company’s patented SiliconDrive technology that is engineered to overcome the problems associated with traditional hard drives and flash cards, and its superior design team for exceeding customer performance, reliability and total cost of ownership expectations.

“It is an amazing honor for SiliconSystems to be recognized as the second fastest growing emerging technology company in North America by Deloitte,” said Michael Hajeck, CEO at SiliconSystems.  “Such a high ranking is the result of the company’s innovative technology, visionary market focus and an outstanding team of professionals who are dedicated to continually enhancing the company’s position as the industry leader in advanced storage technology for the Enterprise System OEM market.”

“It is exceptional for a young company to gain early traction in today’s highly competitive technology marketplace and especially to report such strong revenue growth," said Tony Kern, deputy managing principal of Deloitte’s Technology, Media & Telecommunications industry practice. “It’s a credit to SiliconSystems’ leadership that they’ve managed to ramp up their business so quickly.”

Rising Star Qualifications

To qualify as a Fast 500 Rising Star, entrants must have had 2003 operating revenues of at least $50,000 USD or $75,000 CD, for the United States and Canada, respectively, and 2005 operating revenues of at least $5 million USD or CD.

Entrants must be headquartered in North America, and own proprietary technology or proprietary intellectual property that contributes to a significant portion of the company's operating revenues, or devote a significant proportion of revenues to the research and development of technology.  Using other companies’ technology or intellectual property in a unique way does not qualify.
